Annual Meeting: Saturday, Nov. 6th

The 4th annual meeting of IDA’s Massachusetts Chapter took place on Saturday, November 6th, from 2 to 4 p.m., and since it was a virtual gathering, roughly 20 “dark-sky warriors” from all across Massachusetts attended from the comfort and convenience of home.

This 2-hour meeting included excellent, informative presentations by Rep. Sean Garballey, sponsor of the MA statewide dark-sky bill; nationally known lighting designer Nancy Clanton; and researcher Annette Krop-Benesch, along with a full update of chapter activities and the annual election of the chapter’s officers for the coming year:

  • President: James Lowenthal
  • Vice President: Timothy Brothers
  • Treasurer: Michael Person
  • Secretary: Nancy Morrison
  • Communications: Kelly Beatty
L-to-R: Sean Garballey, Nancy Clanton, & Annette Krop-Benesch

Attendees also heard brief updates from Gail Walker (organization and planning for creation of Nantucket Lights nonprofit advocacy group); and Tim Brothers (adoption of 2200K streetlight retrofits in Pepperell, MA).

If you missed the meeting or want to revisit the excellent presentations, you can stream it using this link.
